The 'oldworld.mpq' was, indeed, removed completely, and for some people that file may have been causing issues. You shouldn't, and it may be causing this issue (especially based upon the posts here). I would also like to know if those files exist in your install or not. Has anyone tried deleting the ~/data/oldworld.mpq and ~/data/enUS/OldWorld-enUS.mpq files and restarted the launcher (as admin, of course)? If not, please try and let me know what happens. I am having some people take a look at this internally to attempt to duplicate what you are describing here. Obviously, you will be able to get in the game and play, but the experience will be subpar. Due to recent hotfixes and such, it is possible that there is some data in one of the MPQs that is trying to both be applied and patched at the same time, and it is forcing it into a loop. I think what we were referencing as 'lack of effect' is different than what you expect, and that created a disconnect. I apologize if it seems like we have been ignoring this or trying to say 'it will not affect game play'. Like the post? Comments or suggestions? What AdamS meant was that you will be able to log in and play, fine. These, ultimately, take up most of the space in the Data/cache folder. This will happen because one of the things the 'Applying.' does is convert sound files. I might have missed a few voice-overs too. Meanwhile, my brother who isn't applying non-critical updates (and installed from disks) is hearing it fine. When doing the starting area for the goblins, I couldn't hear the music that's supposed to play from the car you get. 6:29 AMPosted by GildrakYep, I also think it's affecting gameplay, mostly the music for me.
