(I'm 5'4" and ordered sizes XS and S returned the S because it's a very billowy costume. The fabric was thick and slightly stretchy much prettier IMO than on the model. Pair Westley with this and you won't be disappointed: You could be Westley, or ad a hat and a cape and you could be Zoro!Īnyway, the quality was reasonable, the fabric hung well and was true to size for a medium, long enough for my tall husband, and the fabric washed well so we can repurpose this for future costumes, perhaps as a caterer. After she gets news that Westley has died at sea, the pain and suffering make her even more beautiful. Westley is motivated entirely by his love for Buttercup. After Westley leaves to seek his fortune, Buttercup begins attending to her appearance and soon begins climbing the ranks of beautiful women. Buttercup realizes she loves Westley only after it occurs to her that other women might also take an interest in him. She's a very beautiful teenager at the start of the story, though she doesn't care about her looks: she's more concerned with riding her horse, Horse, and bossing around Westley, the farm boy. Buttercup is the titular princess bride of the novel.
